Taras Shevchenko National Museum hosted an exhibition of paintings by well-known graphic artist, People’s artist of Ukraine, Vasyl Lopata. The exhibition was held under the auspices of National Union of artists, the all-Ukrainian “Prosvita” Society and Taras Shevchenko National Museum. The creative legacy of the known painter numbers over 700 works. Most of them are illustrations for Taras Shevchenko’s “Kobzar” ans Mykola Gogol’s books. Vasyl Lopata is known by his participation in making a drawing of the Ukrainian banknote-hryvnya, he was also an author of diplomatic and Ukrainian passport of 1993 pattern.
